I have never had to help it as it has never gotten stuck. As to cleaning I would rate it a 4 out of 5. The dirt bin size seems to be adequate but the small filter in the dust bin can get clogged quickly. I blow out the filter with compressed air after two or three cleanings. All parts that are responsible for cleaning, are holding up well.
