    Stock C2D and C2Q Cooler

    This is the stock 'OEM' cooler for Intel's Core 2 Quad CPU's. There are actually matching SKU's for these parts, but they all work with LGA 775 CPU's. The cooler and fan is rated for a 95W TDP processor, so any of the Core 2 Quad processors came with one of these. The fan is made by NIDEC, but the different parts come with different fans made by Delta or Intel. It's a good stock cooler. The fan is noisy when it's running wide open, but pretty quiet when idling. The board is PWM, so there's a tachometer signal (4 wire) along with power, ground, and the temp sensor. It has the standard 'push pin' mounting system common to all Intel coolers these days as well.

    Fit Short Heatsink Only

    Fit Short Heatsinks Only? I bought a few to compare with the fans that are made for the taller heatsinks. Turns out the fan is exactly the same fan, and the case is exact dimensions except the push throughs are part of this fan where with the larger heat sinks, the push throughs are part of the taller heatsink housing, not the fan. Strange enough, if you're a dremel tech, you can cut off the push throughs flush, leaving the heatsink tabs, and the fan will mount to the larger heatsinks. The only other difference is the current draw where this one is about .14 amps, the larger ones are .2 amp and higher. Just runs a little slower but gets the job done. So yes, with the dremel cut, these fans will fit the taller heat sinks.

    Intel heat sink for CPU

    This fan works great. It's quiet and effectively cools my system CPU. CPU heat got so high the computer would shut itself down at 200 plus degrees. After replacing my old fan with this unit, the temperature range is routinely 97 degrees on the low end up to 165 at the high side. The PC can be left on for hours with no worries. Great product.
