The pivot shaft was wrapped in multiple layers of plastic, but was also heavily painted. Every bit of that paint had to be scraped and sanded off down to bare metal to fit. The wheel shaft bolt is very robust and the yoke material really is 1/2" in thickness, as advertised. This is a great value for the money IMHO, and it looks far better than the original.
