The winch is not pre drilled for American standard boat trailer pattern mount, so if you want to use three bolts to secure, you have to drill the winch or your trailer. Also plan on going to the hardware store, the bolts provided are metric and grade 4.8, the softest in metric scale, I upgraded to grade 8 bolts. The stud on the grip sticks out too far and needs to be cut off too

The ratchet works, but you only if there is pressure inward on both sides. Which seems weird, but maybe that's how it's supposed to work. I don't know. It means you have to hold it firmly when expanding it before putting it into the caliper and contracting it after removing from caliper. Whatever.
