        B-17 traditional balsa kit

        Full kit. Laser cut parts make it easier. Full page plans show all detail including the notch points of all parts. Special hints: 1. build elevator first before finishing fuselage to be sure elevator will fit between bulkheads. 2. build rudder before finishing fuselage to make sure tail gun housing clears rudder. 3. be careful to insure bulkheads are all at right angles when joining both halves of fuselage. 4. cutting and fitting plastic parts are tricky; take your time. Paint them before assembly. Get olive drab $4 sample from Lowes. It matches Ultracote park flyer covering which I used. I'm building a static model for display. Kit can build U-control flyer with two gas engines. Overall I'm pleased with kit and would buy again.

        Challenging hobby kit

        This kit is complex for its genre and requires significant modeling experience, tools and patience. Directions for assembly and finishing are adequate at best. The most difficult aspect of building this model is the marrying of plastic and wooden parts. The correct adhesives must be found and used carefully. Having built dozens of Guillow's kits, this one was the second-most challenging only to the B-29 which is no longer in production.

        Uscale beauty

        Built as per kit designed ..added a bslsa skin instead of silk span. Placed balsa in between the bulk.heads and stringers. Scale paint. Gear down. Model now lives displayed in a senior living facilities for veterans. Sorry no pix. I will do several more for the same purpose. Thanks

        Epic models make awesome people!

        Amazing old vintage airplane kit from the first third of thre 1900's. I truly feel that every kid should accomplish a balsa and tissue model as they grow up and enjoy building them throughout their lives.
