It is upsetting to have an 80 year old item that survived a war get destroyed because a seller just dumped it in a shoe box and sent it. To be honest, there are bayonets of this type that may cost a bit less, but considering the condition and the quality of the item and the reputation of the seller I believe the value of this item to be excellent.
