    great price. i change the base plate and use the old screws. works fine on my 1973 6 hp Johnson i put fingernail polish on the sides. all except the base. that way it stays together when you change the base plate. the base plate that comes with the pump is to thick

    Would recommend for the price just don’t over tighten the screws or you will shear the threads inside. Just enough to stop leak then stop there

    Worked out nicely however the screws that were provided were metric as my 1976 Johnson threads are SAE. The replacement pump is thicker than the original that requires longer screws. it would be nice if the unit was also supplied with longer SAE screws.
