It's not as good as the higher-end inverters by any stretch, but it will do nicely until I can afford one. I connected some 2 gauge wire (rated at 115 amps) between the inverter and the old car batteries that I have hooked up to it. Don't use the provided cables because they look to be about 10 gauge, and I would not go higher than 30 amps (360 watts for 12V battery) with them.

But I try it with my solar panel 300 watts and 12 volts 60 amp battery and I try it with my electric fan and it maintain the voltage of 120vac continously in 6hrs.
