Softer plastic wins!
This case is absolutely wonderful! I wanted a clear case so that I could show off my face plates but I still needed something that'd protect my system from scratches. However the problem I have with hard plastic cases is that they do protect against scratches to an extent, but they always end up scratching the system itself. How ironic right? But this case is soft and very similar to some cell phone cases so that due to its softer material it's impossible to scratch the system and therefore protects without consequence. Another note is that hard plastic cases are very uncomfortable for your hands over time while this case is definitely softer and comfortable for the hands. Pros over other hard plastic cases: 1. Impossible for it to scratch system itself 2. Comfortable for your hands for ... This case is absolutely wonderful! Yellows over time due to sweat I'm very happy with this case I'd definitely recommend it.

Bought this with great expectations after owning the O3DS XL one but it's not as good in a few ways
I loved my 3DS XL Duraflexi case and expected similar quality from this one. While the material remains flexible and clear (my 3DS XL one still hasn't yellowed and I don't expect this one to either for quite a while), the fit leaves a lot to be desired. The 3DS XL had some holes that the Duraflexi case was able to utilize to remain firmly on the console. The new 3DS has no such holes and the console is more slotted into the case rather than being firmly contained by it. This goes for both the top and bottom cover. The bottom cover fits well at least, though it can begin to slide off if I grip it too tightly during gamplay sometimes. The corners of the top cover are ill-fitted close to the corners near the hinge. They do not completely fit over the console and it is annoying to look at ... I loved my 3DS XL Duraflexi case and expected similar quality from this one. Nice Case
I was expecting another hard plastic case, but I was wrong! It's a soft, rubbery plastic and it looks better than the other kinds and I'd guess that due to the material, it would absorb shock better - though that's just my guess. It doesn't get scratched up like the hard plastic cases do and I expect it to last longer. Overall, I think it's a great product so far.

For what it's worth this is great.
Seeing as it's TPU this product house or text against mine are drops and definitely heavy scratches. If it's just right over your Nintendo 3DS and makes your cover plates visible.
