      Pleasantly Surprised for A APSC Sensor Camera

      I use and love full frame digital cameras. Wanted something smaller for travel and pocketable for night out. Didn’t expect the Leica CL to focus as quickly as it does. Didn’t expect face tracking. While it’s not up to Sony autofocus speed and tracking ability, it actually tracked my kids and pets. Wonderful colors for landscape, portrait and street photos. It’s not a BIF (birds in flight) or sports camera, but few are and it doesn’t pretend to be one. Love using it with the new Sigma prime fast lenses, as well as, the Leica zooms and 18mm (28mm) pocketable prime. You need a case or metal grip on the front to hold it. Also the thumb rests that attach to the hot shoe help with hand holding although it interferes with the right dial use. The Leica leather neck strap is supple, ...

      Good image quality but slow reactions

      Pros are good quality, small & light weigh.and L lens mount can fit with Panasonic S1R body which has 47 mp and the camera can do more. But both bodies are not for action sport photography Cons are slow reacts to command, focus slower, recycle time slower than expect (ready to shoot again). Hard to make adjustments due to main menu access is not convenient. No direct buttons access to almost everything one need to reflect to changing environment before the subject or lighting goes away. To be truefull, it is medium value not good value. I still will keep the camera for lightweight and smaller in size for travel purpose. But in needs to carry Panasonic S1R body to allow more flexibilities and functionality to meet environment and element changes for outdoor travel photography.

      Leica SL

      The SL is a superb camera. It is not for everyone. The Leica aesthetic is simple, not complex like most other cameras. It does not have all the options that other top DSLR's have. For me, that is a relief. It is a joy to use. It is an ideal platform for my older Leica M and R lenses--and they are some of the finest lenses ever made: my 100mm APO-Macro Elmarit R, for instance, or my Tri-Elmar 16-18-21mm, all of which work extremely well on the SL. So, it brings great versatility to using those lenses. It is also extremely durable. All of that works for me and it works extremely well.

      Small, versatile,with Leica weight, and Leica quality.

      Really great camera- a Leica through and through! The best part is the fact that I can use my Leica "M" Lenses, as well as my "L" system lenses. The noise is minimal anjd the colors are great. There is also nothing but Leica for high contrast Black and White. V.Roger Rubin

      Perfect travel and street camera

      The CL has the perfect small form factor. It dimensions match the original Leica III. I use this for shooting M glass. The IQ and build quality is top notch. This is a camera that makes you want to go out and shoot.
