    A Radio With One Battery Is Barely A Radio

    As I've said for many years, if you have only one battery (no matter how charged or capacious) for a handheld radio, you don't really have a radio. It will receive for hours, but when you go to transmit, the battery will fail about the time you really need it. This goes double for emergency use radios, such as RACES, military, police, fire, Skywarn, etc.
