        Amazing Lens!

I was a little dubious of this lens because the price difference between it and the Nikon brand 50mm, but after a few weeks of research and really looking into the maker of it, I found that the company is really going to great lengths to create amazing products for less price. It's really handled everything I've thrown at it and I've been enjoying it for a while now, the depth of field is amazing, and I use it very much in my portraits! If you're a college student with no money and this is your best option, or if you just want high quality without paying for it– go for this lens! You will NOT regret it.

        Yongnuo 50mm F1.8

Yongnuo 50mm F1.8. Images are not sharp and losing up to 1 stop compare to Nikon and Tamron lens. Images taken similar lighting conditions at same spot using manual exposure. Yongnuo 50mm F1.8 aperture used 1.8, 2.8 and 5.6 Lenses compared with Nikon Nikkor 50mm 1.8G Nikon Nikkor 18 - 135mm F3.5 / 5.6 Nikon Nikkor 18 - 55mm F3.5 / 5.6 Tamron 18 to 50mm F2.8 All above lenses metering very similar. used ISO 400 But Yongnuo 50mm F1.8 must set to ISO 800

      • It works partially on nikon D3300

This lens is awesome, very nice image quality even wide open but with some chromatic aberrations that are easily fixed in lightroom. Lens autofocus works very fast and in my opinion very silent motor. The only time where it doesn't work is in live view mode. I have seen videos where the lens just wouldn't focus but in my experience is because of the lack of contrast in the autofocus point, just focus at the edge of the subject and recompose if needed. Overall a good lightweight lens. I am satisfied with my purchase. The bokeh this bad boy can generate is mind blowing.

      • Good Buy, But are better options

The lens is very clear in the center but gets a little fuzzier around the edges. The build quality is not the best but you get what you pay for and is not far off from the Nikkor it is impersonating. The autofocus is fast when the distance it is adjusting for is not that drastic but it sometimes gets confused and has trouble finding focus. The lens will also sometimes malfunction and not take a picture of anything, I'm not sure why. All in all, for the money it's a decent buy but there are better 50mm out there for the price, albeit older.

      • Great price on good product

I like my Yongnuo YN50mm lens. I've used it several times since purchase and haven't been disappointed with the images. It comes at great price, especially compared to Nikon lens, and does the job I need it for -- taking a variety of still images. The product seems durable and I expect it to withstand my usage. I'm not a professional photographer so I'm probably not as rigorous on equipment as some might be although I try to get professional results. Only time will tell how it will hold up, but for now, I'm more than pleased with my purchase.
