Product Information

Hockey meets Doom in a game in which the object is to either score the most points or kill the opposing team before the end of three periods of play. It's futuristic sport in the Drome, with 3D environments and fast-paced, hack and slash action.<br><br>HyperBlade is a game is played between teams of five players: two forwards, a goalie and two reserves. Only two forwards are in play at one time and the computer controls your goalie, who cannot be killed. If a player is killed during the game, one of the reserves takes his place at the next stoppage in play, usually when a team scores a goal. As in regular NHL hockey, reserves can be substituted "on the fly" as well. <br><br>A HUD (head up display) shows the current health status of each player, the relative positions of each player in the arena to the ball and the field of play. Perspective is slightly behind the player being controlled. Should an opponent player approach from behind, a small picture, like a rearview mirror, appears in the upper corner that allows tracking of his movements. <br><br>Various objects, differing in lethality, are scattered about the field of play -- an arena that resembles a half-pipe with a goal at each end. Objects include such items as mines, projectiles, ramps for getting airborne, hurdles, razor-sharp turnstiles and a Killball Charger. <br><br>Multi-player action is available only through a local area network (LAN), where up to four players control the four forwards on the screen (two for each side). HyperBlade contains 45 unique players, each with specific skills, three skill levels, a dozen teams and arenas and supports 3D acceleration.
