Diese, seit langerer Zeit in Angriff genommenen Untersuchungen wurden in meiner Klinik zum Abschluss gebracht und in einigen Vortragen, die Dr. Janet in diesem Fruhjahre an der Salpetriere hielt, dargelegt. Die Arbeit dient zur Stutze einer von mir oft ausgesprochenen Auffassung, dass namlich die Hysterie zum grossen Theile eine Geisteskrankheit ist. Diese Seite der Krankheit darf niemals ausser Acht gelassen werden, wenn man die Hysterie verstehen und behandeln will.Herr Pierre Janet hatte das Bestreben, so vollkommen als moglich die medicinischen und philosophischen Forschungsmethoden zu verbinden.
