    FROM A NOVICE POINT OF VIEW

    I've done a lot of stick soldering in the past. But about one year ago i purchased a low end soldering station after using it a half dozen times i started to have trouble with the stick solder it came with. After a little research i found out about tip tinner so i gave it a try. I will never be without this very necessary tool for soldering. It's not just a tip cleaner it also makes it EZ'er to unsolder components from electrical boards and the cost for a novice is very minimal and i know if i would have known about this there are a few things that i would not have screwed up by over heating trying to remove. This is necessary if you are trying to work on electrical boards, micro soldering and it will even give you a cleaner solder not just on boards. But on plane wires won't work without ...

    It's awesome sauce! I can solder again and I don't have to overheat my tips! It's like night and day! I can't be happier, thank you:)

    Excellent product, just follow the instructions and you will be rewarded with the ability to solder without overheating components, or your tips, and with minimal effort again. Using solder to keep the tips in working condition and clean, isn't nearly good enough. Tinning is the key. It seems a little pricey but this will save your projects from damage caused by overheating to get the components to take solder, and from pressing too hard on the tips. Pay for it, it's worth it.
