    Great old time classic - actually the extra 25 minutes tells the story better - the picture is great mostly but has some issues occasionally that

    The movie is a great old classic sci-fi - other reviewers state that the instances where the 25 minutes restored footage isn't worthwhile as it is too terrible to watch. To me this isn't the case at all - you can tell it's blotchy at times, but they are still very watchable and provide the viewer with much better understanding of what is going on. Besides, before cable/sat, I watched many a TV show that I wish were as good as those blotchy scenes in this version when antenna was the only available option (and non-digital at that) and the reception wasn't so good. So this in my opinion is the best possible version and the blu ray is definitely an upgrade from dvd.

    Honest review.

    I’m not going to talk about how amazing this film is. We already know that. I will discuss the blu-ray it self. This disc is fantastic. The scenes look crisp, well produced image restoration with the amazing 20 min addition to almost (apart from one scene) complete this masterpiece. The audio is great, the score is fantastic. The bonus features were really good and informative. This is a great piece to have in my collection. Probably one of the greatest films in the history of recorded cinema.
