For my ExMark Pioneer, only had to drill 2 holes but it was easy to mark on the top plate and drill that. The other 6 holes matched up. Instructions could offer advice on order of assembly but if you're handy at all, you'll figure it out. Most important, the ride is about 500% better with lots of adjustment.
