      Radio is very impressive, sensitivity is fantastic. The sound quality is also good. At night the AM band is picking up stations all through the band. FM is also sensitive. The shortwave bands working great also. The side band feature is hard to work. But it does work. The volume control is poor. But works. All and all it is a nice radio. They sold for $90.00. Dollars when new. I am not sure when that was. I recommend this radio. But familiarize you’re self with the instructions and have fun

      The reception is not good as other users talks about.

      It's interesting and unique radio but not super good as the reputations. My other radio, Tecsun PL 380 picks up more stations than this item from my opinion.

      Great Beginnings

      This is a great radio for those beginning to explore the world of Shortwave radio. Reception seems good as does sound quality. The back light is a nice feature which adds to the overall experience of night time/late night listening. Of course there are better radios for the same money but the experience of actually using the Kaito 1103 is unique.

      KA1103 IS STILL ONE OF THE BEST !

      The Kaito KA1103 (PLL version) is a fine radio. Reception is good on ALL frequencies that it receives. This particular specimen had spent most of its years in a box. Because of this aging, the front panel had come unglued and there are several dust particles behind the glass of the frequency readout window. This is not a problem with all of this particular model; just the one I happened to purchase. But, I re-glued the front panel which worked out well and I'll just have to live with the dust particles. Overall, a classic radio that still works very well !
