      Title accurate and to the point

      Seems to confirm the reading of a glass one (which I broke). Seems good to be able to calibrate with distilled water, and then take some readings. Was spot on with a bottle of old grouse that I had in the cupboard.

      Indicates sugar content not ABV

      My research since purchasing this device states that it measures sugar concentration not ABV. Which is unfortunate as it measures my home made chardonnay to be 19 degs ABV. Do your research and only buy if it does what you want. The device itself is perfectly sturdy fir home use.

      Poor product

      Initial test seemed to indicate this item worked as I was testing something inwas told was 64% but everything I tested afterwards showed 60% even on alcohol I had used a hydromiter on that had shown me 18%. Very disappointed.
