The sound is quite balanced, which in my experience is not often the case with small speakers. They are either tinny with little bass, or booming bass with no mid range or smooth high registers. Or volume is minimal, and on "low" much is lost. The Charge 4 delivers quality sound at all volume levels. Harman audio (Jay) was super great in helping me configure blue tooth to my nano iPod. He was thoughtful, patient, and effective.
