    289 rebuild

    Bought Permatex brand as it gets excellent reviews & has been around for ever. I have a full Sealed Power set of cut gaskets so didn’t want a gasket maker as such - I wanted a gasket dresser which will hold the gaskets in place while they are fitted & will also take up some of the pitting in the older machined surfaces. The Permatex remains sticky for a good half hour so plenty of time to position gaskets or even dismantle & rebuild if necessary

    Helps the sealing process

    This is clearly still a viable product from the era for old classic bikes but if you are sealing petrol taps you need a good direct seal to start with this product will only help (so you need a good taper thread seal or dowty washers on a parallel thread for this to work).

    Great for the vehicle I am renovating.

    Would be better if supplied in smaller quantity. May not use the rest of the tin. Hopefully there is a long shelf life.

    MORE MPG. Saves petrol!

    I've got a persistent fuel leak on a petrol filler pipe. This sealant has worked on the first application. It's quite mobile so needs some care to apply but so far it looks promising
