Good solution to an operating system problem.
The computer I installed this disc to originally came with Windows 10, which I dislike a lot, since it spends all it's time monopolising the system resources, often to the point where you cannot actually gain access to the computer to do anything useful! It decides it wants to do things itself, not the user! This overblown operating system is essentially a development of the failed Windows 8 with a new 'front end' and is no better. Windows 7 however is far more 'slimline' and works pretty much like my old favourite Windows XP, (just with a few extra bells and whistles'), and is a much more user friendly operating system. This Windows 7 disc has now made it far more easy to use the machine as it is no longer being controlled and monopolised by the loathsome Windows 10 operating system the machine came with. In order to instal the disc though I first had to blank the hard drive because in their 'infinite wisdom' Microbrains won't let you install an older operating system than the current one that's running. However once I had a clean drive the Windows 7 disc was easy, relatively quick and straightforward to install and worked well. Registration of the product was also easy and my machine is now working far better. This has proved a cheap and ideal way to revitalise the computer, which is a secondary machine used more or less exclusively to run sound synthesis programme and is not used for the internet much, my main Ubuntu Linux based one is used for that purpose.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cut down install version without drivers but does work and is genuine.
While Windows was installed, the product is NOT a DVD, it comes as a bootable memory stick. There is also no box with it as shown in the picture. The product registration code is supplied and works perfectly so it's not a pirate copy. However, my main issue was that the most basic drivers were not included like they are with the Windows DVD. It failed to even install the generic network card driver that my previous Windows home did straight away. I had to hunt around for a suitable driver before I could get my PC online to get any other drivers, luckily I also had a laptop to search the net for one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great product, would buy again
Very easy to install, with clear instructions included. My BIOS didn't allow USB boot so I had to create an install DVD, but just meant it was slightly slower to install. A Proper Friendly Operating System
This is an excellent product. Installation was simple and as expected. Entering the Product Key led to a requirement to undertake a Telephone Activation. Not having done this before, I was hesitant but it was straightforward. I had to state the displayed 8 sets of 6 numbers and in turn had to enter 8 sets of 6 numbers. At the end I was required to record those numbers - I should have taken a photo. The Windows OS comes on an installation DVD, which makes it very easy to install on a normal standard pc. Straight forward to boot from and off you go with the installation of Windows 7. If possible, download any special drivers you might need for your pc beforehand especially network drivers, just in case. Normally, if your pc hardware is not too old, Windows 7 will be able to get the OS installed with the majority of the hardware working. If you are time strapped for the installation or even do not have inet access at the location where you do the OS installation, you might want to create an offline windows update media beforehand. Windows 7 Keeps On Going
The Windows 7 DVD and COA were delivered from Key Software in a very speedy fashion. After running the installation (in my case Windows 7 Professional SP1 – X64) and installing my drivers (I had the driver DVD for my Gigabyte Motherboard to hand) I was up and running. Entering the Product Key (supplied on the COA) during installation and activating the software by telephone is not difficult, but it would be really easy to enter an incorrect digit. I would advise that you write all the numbers down as you go (you can always use the numerical codes again if the software ever needed re-activating in the future). Works like a charm, it gave new life to an old computer
Win7 is great for keeping running older computers which do not run well on Win10 but came originally with Vista or XP. XP and Vista support has ended, including extended support, so you cannot get software updates. This puts you in risk if you want keep using your old PC while connected to the Internet, because it is exposed to malicious attacks. Win7 is still on support, so all security patches are getting installed, it allows keep running your PC and enjoy the Internet. Win7 allows using most of modern software. With Win7 you will get adequate performance from your 10 years old PC if you have enough RAM. I recommend to have at least 4GB, but it will work well with 2GB too. If you have less RAM, I recommend upgrading it - RAM for old computers is very affordable on eBay. I installed it on my old Dell 690 workstation (originally it came with XP), works very well. My favourite version of Windows
My desktop PC broke down and I had to buy and install a new hard drive. I don't like Windows 10 but didn't have an installation disk for Windows 7: the PC had not been supplied with one. Once you know how to download and install this product (Windows 7) it is relatively easy to set up. Just got to make sure you understand the instructions. Also computer will save your files and documents, videos and pictures in your C Drive Folder and name it old windows if you chose it to as you will be given that option. After installing I reload those files back into my Pictures, Videos and Documents folders where they were previously. I then do a disc clean, which gets rid of stuff I do not need and also "old windows" folder that takes up space. It is not possible just to delete this folder once you have taken your documents, pictures and videos from it and transferred them to their usual folders. To get rid of "old windows" folder only way I saw how to do it is "disc clean" do this by right click on C Drive. It gives you the option of what you want deleting to create more disc space. Windows 7 is easier to use than Windows 10 but win 10 seems to support more new stuff on the market, but takes time to get used to it. Not sure though if it is any faster than win 7. Plus new media player is no more reliable than the old one. VLC is still the best it handles most file types.
