The 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE coupe just got better. How does a 550 horsepower sports coupe, winner of numerous awards and accolades, raise the bar for itself? Answer: Jaguar adds the dynamic handling of all-wheel drive, the option for a 6-speed manual, and a host of other improvements that extend the performance envelop of the veritable 2-seater.
Announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show today is the world premier of the 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE that has a list of significant changes in addition to the AWD option. Now drivers who reminisce over the days of motoring with the top down and rowing the gears manually can lust over the convertible version of the F-TYPE with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Here is what is new for 2016 model that is expected to go on sale spring of 2015:
- 6-speed manual option available in rear-wheel drive models
- All-wheel drive
- 550 horsepower F-TYPE R model available as both coupe or convertible
- F-TYPE AWD models get a new hood design and distinctive bodywork.
- AWD models good for a zero to 60 mph time of 3.9 seconds
- New Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) tuned for improved efficiency and accuracy
- New Jaguar InControl ® suite of telematics and connectivity now available
