Capacity, Control & Power

The Max model of Can-Am’s Maverick is a four-seat SXS. Its longer wheelbase improves stability and offers plenty of room for friends or family. An aggressive 72-inch-wide stance and rugged frame translate to a confident ride in rough terrain.

This Maverick X3 Max has tech features that will keep you comfortably in control on the trail. Factory equipment includes FOX Smart-Shox Technology, Electronic Hill Descent Control and Intelligent Throttle Control—a drive-by-wire system that optimizes throttle response. The standard 7.6-inch digital display provides quick, at-a-glance access to current speed, rpm, and fuel level.

The Maverick X3 Max Turbo RR is one of the more powerful models in the high-performance multi-passenger SXS category. Its 900-cc, 195-horsepower Rotax UTV engine provides G-force-inducing acceleration and a top speed of 62 mph. Given that level of engine performance, the owner focused his upgrades on the suspension system.

Performance Chassis

Shortly after purchasing the Can-Am, the owner replaced much of the factory suspension with performance aftermarket equipment. The upper and lower A-arms are now chromoly components from Madigan Motorsports. Extreme Performance chromoly rear trailing arms use new trailing arm bolts from ZRP.

Shock Therapy provided dual-rate springs, a front sway bar with adjustable billet links, and rear radius rods, and custom-tuned the FOX Smart-Shox. Heavy-duty ZRP pieces reinforce the front shock towers, and a Halo Lockers electronic disconnect kit augments the new sway bar.

Raising the X3 Max’s performance required other chassis modifications as well. Increased stopping power comes from Rolloface front and rear racing brakes with four-piston calipers and a Rolloface master cylinder. Front and rear driveshafts by Sandcraft Motorsports and ZRP front and rear knuckles, transmission seals, wheel hubs, and wheel studs improve driveline longevity.
