The 1970 K5 Blazer for sale on eBay was built for the SEMA show in 2018. Its body was transformed into a remarkable open-air two-seat roadster with a pickup profile.
The Blazer’s mechanicals were then built ground-up with reliable running gear and all kinds of modern high-tech features. It’s a one-of-a-kind, all-American, muscle-bound restomod.
The Blazer is available on eBay for $110,000 or best offer. That sounds pricey, but building another one at a lower price would be tough. “Tons of time and money invested,” says Oscar Quintero, the K5 Blazer’s designer and seller.

Lowered, Chopped and Dechromed
Quintero says the roadster—a cover star on StreetTrucks magazine in November 2019—took two years to build. The body parts are all original Blazer. But the doors were capped, the windshield cut down by three inches, the firewall smoothed.
As a low-riding hauler, the Blazer has real presence. With no provision for a top and a paint job in House of Kolor Orion Silver, it’s winner’s circle perfect. The ’70 Blazer is always going to be a show car that collects trophies.
But Quintero adds: “It’s fun to drive, and really smooth. With the drivetrain, it’s like a modern car.” Only 500 miles have been added since the build was completed.
There’s no top, so the roadster is a fair-weather friend.
Theoretically, the rear section makes the roadster something of a pickup, but Quintero says a haulin’ life isn’t likely. “There’s so much paintwork back there the new owner probably won’t want to scratch it,” he said.
A Long List of Features
The truck sits on a new chassis with custom front and rear suspension connected to an Accuair system that can lower it almost to the ground. That highlights the Boyd Coddington Chinook V3 wheels, mounted with low-profile Toyo tires.
Look through those wheels, and you’ll see Wilwood brakes front (four-piston) and rear (six-piston).
The engine is a polished 6.2-liter General Motors LS3 V-8 with 25,000 miles on it when removed from its original home. It’s connected to a GM 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is gorgeous to behold.
The chassis is built around a GM LS3 V-8, and is show-detailed.
The build is exotic, but the drivetrain is not. The LS3 is a very popular GM V-8 that’s supported strongly by eBay. Complete engines are available. Some are brand new, with prices ranging from $7,500 to $9,000. The power can climb beyond 500 horsepower. eBay also offers parts from oil pumps to chrome-moly pushrods.
Slick Interior
The interior color scheme is burgundy, with Procar buckets and a huge custom center console.
The instrument panel is on the tablet.
In perhaps the vehicle’s most radical departure, there’s no dashboard as such. The instruments are on a vertically mounted and removable Samsung tablet. (See how you can use a tablet to create a powerful dashboard.)
The Blazer’s tablet controls the Rockford Fosgate audio and climate control, using a Bluetooth Autometer module for gauges.
The HRBB Chinook steering wheel is a work of art. It’s connected to a CPP chromed column.
Quintero says he’s undecided on his next project. First things first: He wants to find the right home for his extraordinary Blazer pickup-roadster.
