Bobby Munson, the Elvis-impersonating treasurer for the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, was a fascinating character. He was calm and smart—but not afraid to get into some bad stuff. Those traits could also be used to describe the 1929 Ford Model A now being auctioned on eBay Motors. The seller reports that the bare metal rat rod was exclusively built for Mark Boone Junior, who played Munson on Sons of Anarchy, the hit FX television show.
“It’s built from three different cars of that era—all molded into one bad mother,” writes the seller. The 1929 coach body was chopped, sectioned, and channeled over a custom frame. Then, 1940 Chevy truck fenders and suicide doors with electric windows were added. The wood dash sports a set of custom gauges.
The rod features a traditional 350 small-block Chevy engine mated to a 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission. It has a custom suspension with coil-over shocks. The red wire spoke rims look sharp set against the wide white Coker Tires. The high-capacity radiator and cooling system are appreciated in Las Vegas, the car’s current locale. Only about 800 miles were reportedly added to the odometer since the build.
Sons of Anarchy was featured on FX from 2008 to 2014. Munson was a main character in all seven seasons. The show told the story of a fictional motorcycle gang and its violent undertakings. Junior brought his menacing look to the Anarchy role—as well as about 70 films, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Thin Red Line, Die Hard 2, Batman Begins, and Memento.
