This 1995 Acura NSX-T Has Clocked 320k Miles

Classic car enthusiasts are divided into two camps. On one side, collectors spend countless hours and dollars to restore a car, but the result is often parked in a museum or garage. Conversely, drivers believe that cars should live on the road. The 1995 Acura NSX-T currently for sale on eBay in Mishawaka, Ind., lives in both worlds.

Perfection on Wheels

Preserving a car ensures it will survive for future generations to appreciate. On the other hand, a vehicle that sits dormant is arguably not fulfilling its intended purpose. This NSX-T has 320,500 miles on its odometer, so it’s clearly been enjoyed. Yet, it looks as gorgeous as the day it left the showroom.

The Acura NSX is considered one of the greatest sports cars ever built. Introduced in 1990, Acura designed the NSX as a road car encompassing Honda’s Formula 1 expertise. When the NSX was launched, Honda-powered race cars dominated the F1 world championships.

The NSX boasted technology never before seen on a production vehicle. These included titanium connecting rods and a variable valve timing system. Honda dubbed this sophisticated, high-performance engine VTEC.

The 3.0-liter V-6 was packaged into an aluminum monocoque body, another world’s first for a road car with a mid-engine layout. There’s more:

  • A double-wishbone front and rear suspension with forged control arms
  • Honda’s notoriously smooth-shifting manual transmissions
  • An ergonomically designed interior as easy to use as an Accord

It was perfect. Did we mention that it also came with Honda reliability and a sticker price that undercut inferior European exotics by as much as half?

No Excuses

The NSX immediately shot to the top of critics’ lists and into enthusiasts’ garages. In 1995, Honda debuted the NSX-T, which added a removable targa-style roof to the fighter jet-style canopy. The refresh also improved the suspension, steering rack, throttle, differential, and exhaust systems.

The car for sale on eBay is a prime example of the breed and a true one-owner car. The seller says it was purchased in 1995 in Maumee, Ohio. The seller, who owns an aerospace machine shop, says he has a habit of keeping mechanical things running in tip-top shape—with a religious dedication to maintenance at the proper service intervals.

He calls it a “no excuses” car, and it shows. Even well-cared-for examples with far fewer miles typically experience some wear and tear that’s out of the driver’s control. Somehow, the seller has managed to keep this NSX looking brand new. Even the leather seats appear to have no cracking. The engine bay also looks very clean, even though it’s clear that it wasn’t recently washed to give that appearance.

High Miles

Typically, an asking price of $67,500 for an NSX showing this kind of mileage would be ridiculous. This one isn’t for low-mileage collectors. It removes the guilt of putting on excessive miles and turns it into a challenge.

Perhaps the next owner can aim for a high mileage record and gain publicity (or a free car from Honda). It’s happened before. The tricky and fun part will be maintaining the car’s immaculate shape while adding miles.
