The Master Box German Watchtower Kit will take you back in time to World-War-II-era Germany. The Ukrainian company’s 1:35 scale military kit can be added to any display with other German building models. It can also be added to a diorama of towers or structures that have similar heights and scales. This plastic kit from Master Box is great for anyone who may enjoy creating historical model replicas. This watchtower is scaled down 35 times from the real wooden watchtowers used in World War II. Instructions for building this model are on the back of the box. The parts come in two sheets and one circular plastic piece. One sheet contains the components that will make up the watchtower. The searchlight is created out of two pieces and a circular plastic part for the lens. There is also a field telephone for the soldiers to use while they are fulfilling their duties. The tower is square and has a ladder on one side. The roof comes to a point, and the tower is mostly open except for the walls at the top that go up to the soldiers’ waists. The tower is supported by four long, round poles, one at each corner. There are also cross beams supporting the structure. The second sheet of pieces in this Master Box kit will make up the infantry soldier figures. The soldiers and their attire are sculpted to astonishing detail and look very realistic. There are two sets of figures. One set is clad in summer uniforms and the other in winter uniforms. After you’ve finished building the scene, you can switch out the soldiers with the seasons. The winter uniforms include greatcoats with the collars turned up. It is obvious by the way these coats are worn that the weather is very cold. One soldier is lighting a cigarette as the other holds his rifle in the crook of his arm and jams his hands into his pockets. The figures in summer uniforms seem to be more relaxed and portray a lighter mood. One figure leans on the rail of the watchtower, calmly keeping an eye on the activities below. He can also stand leaning one arm on his gun. The other has his rifle strapped over his shoulder and is looking off into the distance. These soldiers are all wearing standard German uniforms from World War II with high boots. You can tell by looking at the uniforms that the scene is taking place in the first half of the war. The soldiers in this Master Box kit also have a bread bag, a canteen, ammo pouches, a gas mask, and a flashlight. You can add paint or stain to really bring the details out of the finished model scene once the glue has dried. This 1:35 scale German Watchtower model kit from Master Box would make an excellent diorama piece. It is a great model to build if you are new to the hobby.Product Identifiers
