ALEVE Direct Therapy
Easy to set-up. My opinion, the center compartment is bulky,Wish it was slimmer. Had they gone with the CR type battery vs the 2 AAA's it may have allowed for a slimmer design (?).The remote works well...but you need to have with you, whereas, the Icy Hot product doesn't have a remote... which I appreciate. As for adhesiveness of the pads... I had an issue with the pads not adhering well on the 2 separate occasions. I just contacted ALEVE and they are sending me credit for the purchase of new pads. The issue, I hope,may be an exception. I provided the pads lot number and expiration date for their BIA (Business Impact Analysis). I'll see how the second pair works. The pads not adhering well was a bit concerning. Kudos to ALEVE for addressing my concern. I recommend the product because it does work and the resolve of the ALEVE customer support. Recommend - But Buy on Sale
Bought it for my husband who has lower back discomfort. Seems to works well, well built easy to use, however he is not sure of any long term effect or benefit yet after using it multiple times. The pads are very sticky and sometimes do not come off the skin, which shortens the life of the pads. (Pads can be expensive.) It can be difficult to determie if the remote and the unit is off after the unit has been removed from his back. Biggest draw-back is that the unit is only for the lower back. I got this for a friend. And it works for him. Really helps with his back pain. I have used them for years and on may second one. Makes my bad back pain easy to live with. It helps my back pain and enables me to walk 3 miles everyday. The product is dependable and easily worn un my clothes without someone noticing it It has a remote where you can control the intensity level of the tens unit. This product works well when in use however relief only lasts a short while after use.
Fits well, stays in place, relaxes muscles for a brief time during and after use. With long term use I don't know yet as to if it has any lasting affects. Bad Gel Pads
The gel pads used to hold the device to your back sticks to your back. Even when you follow instructions to the letter, and try to remove the device, following instructions carefully, the gels pads com loose. Then you have a real mess in your hand. It is similar to the same stuff used to hold a new credit card to the letter when you receive a new one. They need to use medical grade adhesive contact pads. One side sticks to the device and the other gently adheres to your back and can be easily removed. For lower back pain this is the easiest most effective way to alleviate this kind of pain. This is my second Aleve direct therapy tens unit.
