  • Great binoculars with minor caveats

Great image in these and the 10x magnification is perfect for seeing just a little more in the brush than with 6x or 8x binos. The 5.0 exit pupil results in images just as bright as my 44-year old eyes can see right at dusk. The weight isn't really that bad, although I can't exactly call them light weight. The case is nice and the strap is decent. The only thing is not a negative but a word of caution to anyone with an exceptionally narrow face - more specifically, short distance between eyes. I probably have about an average distance between eyes and I have to set the binoculars to the closest setting to be able to use them properly. A narrow-faced person would probably not do well with these. This is not a criticism of Athlon's binos, specifically, but a physical reality of 50 mm objective lenses on roof prism binoculars. All in all, these are great binos. I typically take my smaller, lighter ones in the tree stand but I like these for scouting or when doing longer distance archery target practice. Highly recommended for the right purpose.
