  • Eight is Enough

This 8mp Canon Rebel is a convenient, lightweight DSLR at an affordable price. Megapixels are only half the equation, lenses the other. The Rebel can use both the EF-S lenses native to the Rebel, but also the EF lenses I have for my D-30 and my autofocus Canon film cameras. I bought it because I had an 18-55 EF-S lens I coundn't use on my D-30 that wouldn't autofocus. Luckily I found a Rebel body whose autofocus didn't work. It works fine in Manual focus, ( it takes a light touch),all other functions work fine. I use it as much as my D-30 and my Nikon D100.

  • Astrophotography with a Classic DSLR

What do you get with you combine a "back in the day" thousand dollar camera with a classic used Celestron 6 inch C6-N ? A cost effective way to study and learn astronomy and applied astro-photography. Add in the classic Canon remote for under one dollar, a Canon type T2 adapter, and Dayton #5P0012, with the DANE-ELEC CompactFlash 8GB, and you're ready to rule the stars...in your own backyard. I couldn't be more pleased with the offerings of fellow E-bayer's, providing us with the bones; behind cost effective back yard science, and experimentation for a fraction of the cost over 10 years ago. I recommend to any one person considering stepping into Astrophotography - to make a quantum leap backwards, into the cost effective realm of when CCD and CMOS was first intelligently designed into the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT / EOS 350D SLR, before tossing their cookies into a very expensive hobby in today's dollars and sense. You've heard, "look before you leap", now you've read "quantum leap backwards". And you read it here. As a first image, I decided to use the auto settings, and "flash" photography - imaging the clouds. This is a one off, and took four attempts. Any follow up will be used to learn manual imaging, and subsequently, night time photography of the stars and planets.

  • Excellent value DSLR

This is a very old 8mp DSLR that still takes fantastic, low- noise photos. I use it with an ef 50mm lens. It was cheaper than lunch at Starbucks, so I'm not afraid of losing it.

  • Aside of the strong nicotine smell, the camera is ok. Even the old battery is still working. Thank you.

  • Good for the price

Understand that the camera is old. On some pictures little spots can be seen due to dust within the camera. Overall functionality is good. Great for beginners.

  • Super camera for the money

Camera works great in the auto mode, but I am taking classes to fully understand the many manual features. I own a Canon 350 and a 450 love them both.

  • Canon DSLR Camera review

I had to purchase a camera specific adapter (and a memory card), which I finally received yesterday. After some initial basic "shooting", it appears to take fine pictures.

  • Terrific DSLR Camera

This is a great DSLR camera to get you started into the world of Digital SLR Photography without breaking the bank. The Canon Rebel XT was the first of the Camera line and there are many out there that are in very good condition at just a fraction of the what they cost when they were new. Picture quality is terrific! For the cost and the quality, you can't go wrong with this camera.

  • Early 2000s body, still great images

Even in this day and age, this body still produces beautiful images albeit, at a lower resolution than that of the current offerings.
