Can't Go Wrong With OEM Reservoir
This OEM power steering reservoir was an easy thing to put on the car. The part that went into the engine needs to be wiggled in, not pushed in with brute force. The hose was easy connect. There are other cheap substitutes for this part, but I didn't want to take a chance on them. The power steering whine was not audible after changing out the old one. Part not good
The shape of tube going in to the pump was different than the original part. There were 2 O rings on the original and one on this part. Part was working, but the pressure line was leaking so I had to take it off after I installed it a few months back. While removing this part, with very little force the fitting broke off in the pump. The original part had been removed 2 times with no issues. I am glad I didn’t toss the original after replacing. I had to revert back to the original now and still trying to get the pressure line to stop leaking. No wonder ford started using electric power steering now. I don’t recommend this part if it has to be removed for any reason because it will break very easily.

Replace reservoir when you replace the pump.
After replacing the power steering pump the fluid was still foaming out of the cap. Turns out Ford has filter material in the reservoir that gets plugged over time. No way to clean or replace the filter material. Replacing the reservoir fixed the problem.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Saved me $300 and kept my Focus going
Every mechanic I went to said it would take a complete power steering pump assembly to fix my 2006 Focus with foaming and leaking power steering fluid. My Focus has over 280,000 miles on it and runs like a top but I didnt want to spend $400 on it so after researching decided to try replacing the reservoir to see if clogged filter was my only problem.
