Just so you know
I lived in China for a year. I own numerous Chinese stainless steel kitchen utensils. When 20% of the people in the world are Chinese, and the country is not especially rich, and the government influences many many things, it shows in household goods. China definitely avoids "disposable" items, hence the predominance of stainless steel. But, they also engineer items to be just enough. Heavier would, no doubt, constitute a waste of Chinese resources, through "over design". I find all of my Chinese kitchen utensils to be "light weight". The older ones have performed fine for long times, they have been durable. But, I always wish they felt a little more "heavy duty". I will continue to buy Chinese kitchen utensils, when I might need them. Even if one should fail someday, they are very inexpensive. The Chinese utensils replaced US-made items (non-stainless steel), that in spite of a better feel, did fail. David.
