NCAA March Madness returns for a third season on PlayStation 2, offering players a chance to create and sustain a dynasty spanning 30 years. As general manager and coach, players can recruit high school athletes, conduct training sessions in the off season, customize non-conference schedules, and participate in the EA SPORTS Roundball Classic. The distinctive atmosphere of college hoops has been captured with cheerleaders, bands, mascots, team-specific crowd chants, and new post-game celebrations and fight songs. Online play is a PlayStation 2 exclusive, supporting head-to-head matchups, tournaments, downloadable content, and other features.<br><br>As in the NCAA Football series, players can now pit team mascots against each another or relive famous school rivalries such as Duke versus UNC. The freestyle control introduced in March Madness 2003 is back, with players able to use the right analog stick for special moves such as crossover dribbles, strip steals, and more. Yet the most noteworthy addition to the series is the inclusion of every Division I team in America -- a total of more than 300 schools. Good Basketball game
This was the best simulation of college basketball for a long time. NCAA March Madness is probably the deepest experience of college basketball you could ever ask for. There is an option to "Ask the Coach" where NCAA coaches of the time teach you basics of the game and give tips to the player. There's Dynasty Mode where you can make college football dynasty and then import players over to NBA Live 2004 and oversee their pro careers, which was a new feature at the time. Mr. College Basketball Richard Vitale is at his exuberant best and you will be certain to hear "It's Awesome Baby, with a Capital A!" and "PTPers" and "He's a High Riser, He's the Elevator Man!" a lot, if you aren't a fan of Vitale this is a game that might be a turn off. Luckily you can turn to the commentary off. Under the hood it plays very similarly to NBA Live 2004, if you are used to the NBA Live series, you should have no issue jumping right in. The biggest thing in this game is the Dynasty Mode, its very deep and compelling and very immersive. Taking a school that many don't regard highly and taking them into the Tourney up against Duke or Connecticut is a great feeling.
