I used it on my Alaskan coal stove front glass door. It wasn't cleaned for two months, so I had my doubts. Tried it. I just poured some on a napkin and wiped and it worked great, No scrubbing just melted away the white caked on soot. Door glass is old but looks the best it has in a long while. Works but not a miracle worker
Bought this from claims it removed white residue. It does not work if residue has been on glass for a season or two. Several attempts wee made and although improved, never removed the all the residue.
