    Great Grinder -- Big Capacity

With 4 coffee drinkers in my family we brew a lot of coffee. I've had this same grinder for about 5 years, used it probably a couple times a week to grind/fill a big glass jar w/locking air tight lid. Like the big 18 cup grinding cup size. But, it's started to wear out where the shaft with spinning blades wobbles in the bowl, letting ground coffee into the base/drive area. Still grinds, just a little messy there. Looked for just a new grinding bowl. Only Cusinart seemed to sell them separate from a new grinder for $28 plus shipping! Cheaper to simply buy a whole new grinder w/free shipping. So, I did. Now I have a new grinder and backup lid and motor assembly. Love the BIG size grinder, pretty quiet too compared to others. Happy brewing!

  • Top critical review

good features accept the following , it is not bulky lightweight Otherwise .

.upper part Transparent lid of machine not fitting well,, leaks grinding material out,, requires cleanup. it is a designing defect. without using the lid it cannot work it has to lock-in place to run mortar.

  • Cruisenart coffee bean grinder

The fact that the bowl removes to dump the coffee makes it easy to use. However, the blades in the bowl are not sturdy enough for long life. The blade broke in my previous unit after about 5 years and the bowl cost more to replace than to buy a complete new coffee grinder. That being said, I replaced the grinder with a Cuisenart that is the same as my old one.

  • Best coffee grinder ever !!

This is undoubtedly the BEST coffee grinder ever made. I have been using this grinder for over 25 years and I love it. This is only the 3rd one I have bought n all these years.

  • Excellent performance in a small package

This grinder is the third one we have used - a larger Cuisinart and a Krup preceded it. This one is by far the best. It handles oily beans much better than either of the others, and is the quietest of the three. It is also the least trouble to clean. My only complaint is the intake bin is small. Wish I could get beans for 12 cups in a single load. Otherwise, a near perfect product.

  • A Wonderfully Economical Replacement Part for an Outstanding Product!

We've moved on to a burr grinder for our coffee, but replaced the base of our old Cuisinart—it lasted 15 years before giving up the proverbial ghost!—to be used as a backup and as a very fine spice grinder.

  • Good product concern about hopper lock

Lock in tight on hopper concerned with plastic on the connection breaking have had the same one for years and it did break in the paddle area otherwise

  • The home version of a commercial grinder

Grinds a lot more beans in one load than any other grinder that I’ve had. The removable cup makes it easy to empty. Excellent.

  • Good to find a replacement

Whilst these replacement grinder cups can still be bought from a few web sites they are very expensive. It was great to get this (slightly) used part and not have to throw away the rest of the coffee bean grinder!
