Good toaster, but some issues.
This is my third try with this toaster. The first one worked fine for a few years, and then it quit. The second one was a lemon - the start switch would stick, causing repeated cycles. Our second dance with this toaster
Our first one of this model of toaster lasted for quite a few years, and when one of the heating coils stopped working, we replaced it with the same model. So: yes, would buy again. It accommodates large and wide slices of bread, has a defrost setting, and has a wide range of toasting levels from "waft warm air over the bread" to "turn the bread into a piece of charcoal." It also has a button called "A bit more," which is cute. We haven't used the "bagel" button since where we live there are no real bagels. It beeps to tell you when the toast is ready, and raises the toast slowly rather than flinging it onto the floor. I guess designing a toaster to brown evenly is harder than establishing a human base on Mars, but this one does as well as any other. I'm not the one who cleans it, but my other half wouldn't put up with an appliance that's hard to clean.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Accurate and even.
This is the first toaster I have bought without a starting leaver. I had my doubts weather it was a good idea. I like mechanical things that make common sense as they work. I primarily bought this toaster because it had a wide opening for artisan bread. What I was amazed at was its precision. It toasts the bread and bagel evenly. I do not have to dig out the toast once it's done. After toasting the slices of bread are conveniently raised high and easily reached. The only criticism I have is that the print designation of each button came off as one slid their fingers across the print. I simply took a fine point sharpie marker and printed them on. This is easily a best buy.

High tech meets toaster
If you are compelled to own a swanky toaster, this is the one to buy. Great styling and actually quite compact. Features are astounding including a "lift and look" feature and a gentle DING at the end of toasting to let you know the process is finished. Be aware this appliance runs very hot. Do not use it under your upper kitchen cabinets. Although a bit high priced, it offers 1st class features all others do not. Love this toaster!!!!
What an amazing concept, I love the electronic button that self lowers, I know I could’ve bought a regular run of the mill toaster, but wanted something more! This toasts evenly, LOVE the “a bit more” function, and the “lift and look” and I haven’t burned anything yet! Easy to clean, and love the long toast, I can fit things like rye bread, or 2 English muffins at a time, 4 slices of bread at a time!!

You DESERVE a toaster like this
My trusty, very old 2 slice toaster did a class A job on bread - that fit. Tired of cutting one end off of store bought rye, I bought this Breville model. Love the motorized functions and options that come with it. I'm one to set and forget so when I toasted home made bread recently, had to use the "a bit more" button. The best toast in all the world is from your home made bread. I really like the plug with a hole in it. ALL plug in stuff should use that design. Set mine at one level below 3. Breville, the 'real thing' in toasters.
While there are some manufacturing savings in this product's Chinese production, it still is a great, long-slot toaster (4.625" slot longer than my old 5.25", 4.75" wide rather than 4.25", and 5.0' deep rather than 4.375") . Critique had its labels' visibility gradually eroded on the pleasingly-white, plastic, low cost model.
