The Pyle PDWR40B stereo speaker is designed with a rugged ABS construction and removable rust proof mesh grills to be used in any indoor or outdoor location. Ideal for boats, marine vessels, decks, patios, pool side stereo systems and other wet locations, the user has a lot of choices to place this speaker. Completely waterproof, this 2-way Pyle speaker has a peak power handling of 400-watt. The Pyle PDWR40B has an impedance of 4 ohm. This indoor or outdoor speaker connects and disconnects quickly and easily via a cable connector. The capacitor crossover network separates the midrange sounds of the 5.25-inch alminum injection cone woofer and the 1-inch high compliance Myiar tweeter. This indoor or outdoor speaker is bass-reflex-vented for better bass response. A spring-loaded mounting system makes it simple to mount in or around homes, boats and more. Total measurements of this Pyle speaker are 6.25 x 9.25 x 5.75-inches, compatible for spacious locations. A pair of Pyle PDWR40B speakers weighs 11.2 lbs. Good speakers if your NOT going to crank them up to feel the bass.
When I took them out of the box I noticed they were very light. NOT a 40 oz magnet. I immediately thought the bass was not going to be good. These speakers had better specs than my Radio Shack speakers I had which had great bass but these Pyle speakers the bass isn't that great. The speakers overall are ok if your not cranking them up to get some thumping bass. But if you want something that you can FEEL the bass then you should probably get something better. Very poor bass
I bought these based on other's reviews, got them, plugged them in and was instantly disappointed. I got them to replace my 30 year old Optimus Pro-X7's which finally died. These performed the same as my blown out 30 year old speakers. Can't handle bass at all, just rattle like blown out speakers. They are fine for the mids and highs so I will use them for my rears which don't do much work.
