Fits well on smaller cables.
Easy to install and fits well around the synthetic cable and into the fairlead. The winch now has a bit of tension relief as compared to being wound directly against the hook. I also installed one on a 3/8 steel cabled-winch which was less forgiving. While the thimble and dead end of the cable did fit, it didn't fit as snugly as I had hoped. However, it looked to do what it was designed and kept the hook end out of the fairlead. That winch won't be in use enought to make a difference anyway. Good Accessory!
This was used on our 5000 lb UTV winch rope to allow the cable to have a bit of tension when not in use so the hook doesn't hang too low. We draw it in oriented so the hook swivels down on it's clevis and makes for compact storage. This bumper has room to slide on our 1/4" cable, so should fit larger too. I would put this on a wire cable also, to keep the wire taught on the drum, which is what destroyed the previous cable while powering out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great rubber bumper
This is a well built bumper stop. It has about a 1/2" hole thru it, so may have a sloppy fit if you have a smaller cable. My cable is 7/16" & I can slide the bumper stop with a little resistance.
