Dream came true
I was always wondering why there wasn't a programmable radio on the market-seemed like such a simple idea-push a button for the station instead of tuning it every time you want a different one. Now, with Sangean my dream came true and I can change station with a simple click of a button. A bonus-some stations let you actually READ what song is playing on the radio's display, so when I do not know who is the singer, my radio kindly tells me in plain English. This is a good solid radio. But if you are buying it to pull in distant AM stations you will be disappointed. It does no better than a $10 dollar radio I bought at Walmart years ago that I was hoping to replace with this radio. Very disappointing. For some reason, reception is slightly clearer on batteries. OK but pricey for what it is.
This tunes everything is clearly both am/fm. It would help if there were tone or sound adjustments. I find the tone with too much bass for talk/news am. Good for music; not great for talk. love this radio. the best one i had so far, but inserting the bat' is a problem
it sure is a great radio, sound quality, excellent, with two speakers for stereo, is very nice. it's well made, in brief it's a super radio, there's only one negative, but very annoying. it's damn too hard to insert the batteries. it's a struggle. you must, and I say must use a screwdriver to force the batteries in. the length is a little short to accommodate the all 4 bat', even the 2 bat' are hard to insert. folks, it's just unreal, and sound like a joke, but trust me, it's a problem. you say it might be me, no I don't think so. you see how much I devoted, just for bat'. well get one and see for yourselfVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

The perfect gift for my Mom!
Had been looking for a nice digital portable radio for my Mom. It is perfect for her. It is fairly small in size and the features are very user-friendly, Yet it delivers a performance and sound quality of a much more expensive and larger radio. My Mom also loves the RDS display that lets you know the station, song and artist. Quality sound!
The sound quality is very good, as is the reception. I wish that it had a built-in carrying handle. I also like the RDS feature, although it would be nice if more radio stations would use this more frequently and consistently. Great Little Radio
I have 6 of these radios, one in each room almost. I keep coming back to purchase the same radio simply because it has good sound and it does pull in a lot of the AM channels. I still have the first radio I purchased which was almost 18 years ago. Actually, I've owned this brand since the early 90's. I also have 2 of the Bose radios, (the largest ones you can buy), but I find I'm always using the Sangean radio to listen to the news and etc. My Bose radios do not get much use. I wouldn't keep purchasing these radios unless I thought they had good clear sound and tuning. None of them have ever stopped working. TERRIFIC RADIO
I love this radio! good quality throughout. I live in an area that does NOT receive AM signals and a constant wave length. This radio picks them up very well. Still a problem sometimes but I set a Loop Antenna next to it, adjust, and voila!! The sound quality is very good and clear. Love the programmable keys, no more fiddling around to change stations. Like the Idea of clock and alarm. It is a portable and because our electricity goes out in the winter on a fairly regular basis, this radio provides enough battery power to last a good while. Best radio I've ever owned!
It seems there are no gimmicks here. They purely use all at their disposal to focus entirely on radio and its best and purest qualities. By adding police scans, short wave and a host of other things, they couldn't possibly get the magnitude of quality they achieved here without thinning out one thing for another. What you have here is the best reception of any size radio and I live in a hurricane proof building usually with little to no reception.
