Simply the best solution for a home emergency generator.
The best solution over a much more expensive whole house transfer switch, especially anything over 100A. This transfer switch is more economical even if you hire a professional electrician to install it. Be sure to select the most important six circuits, freezer, refrigerator, furnace, your most used outlets, sump pump, and don't forget your water pump if you have a well. Has everything I need!!!
I ordered this transfer switch right after hurricane Irma when I used a generator for the first time! The service box in the garage was all rusted out and the line to the main breaker box in the house has a direct short, so I will replace that and the box in the garage. I figured since I was doing all that, I may as well add in the transfer switch so I can connect my generator directly and keep my food from spoiling, have some lights and my well pumps running until main power comes back on. This unit had everything I needed to do just that! If I move, this is coming with me! LOL. I hope others would consider this unit to keep them prepared in an emergency! Looks great and works great.
I installed this transfer switch after having no power for 7 days do to hurricane Irma. I also installed the flush mount kit and the plastic cover, which look great. Wiring it up was easy and took less time then mounting it and installing the flushmount kit. The Only issue I had was in the packaging when shipped. The box was trashed with tape and plastic straps holding it together. It appeared to have been an opened box with all sealed bags and envelopes previously opened. Luckily there was no damage and all parts there so I used it.

This is my 3rd Reliance transfer switch. I keep getting bigger generators, need more circuit availability and do not want an automatic unit. I have a 10 circuit transfer switch that I used on my 10kW gas generator and now have it hooked to my 15kW diesel. I needed to hook up a small heat pump and water heater and this one does great after changing 2 of the 110 breakers into a 220. These units are easy to install, totally negate the possibility of backfeeding through the lines, and are simple enough for the wife to be able to operate.
