Withstands multiple viewing in remaining entertaining and justifying blu ray format
In spite of reviews relegating this film as the worst of the three major films Peter Ustinov starred in as Hercule Poirot, I found myself repeatedly returning to watch it thanks to Youtube. I will admit that the other two are superior...and yet it takes nothing away from my enjoyment of this rendition. Much of this is due to the cast of Jenny Seagrove (who I loved in Nate and Hayes....which might indicate my taste in films), David Soul (made famous from a television show, Starsky and Hutch and even had a top 40 hit pop song), Carrie Fisher (it is always refreshing to see her in roles not associated with Star Wars....I remember first seeing her in Shampoo), Piper Laurie (who I more associate with Twin Peaks), Lauren Bacall, Hayley Mills and the list goes on. I actually loved the Jerusalem setting (which was a change from the book). The true test of a film in the murder mystery category is how rewatchable it is in spite of knowing the ending. So, I was enthralled to able to watch it a blu ray format with surround sound and for me is worth the cost...I didn't want to depend on it not being taken down from Youtube in order to experience multiple viewings of this film.
