I LOVE cookbooks with a story. This cookbook takes you right into a southern families kitchen...you can almost smell and taste the dish your reading about. Do try the Heritage recipes!! The Famous Chicken and Dumplings were delicious!! and the Sweet Potato Nut bread... I even brought Crisco shortening and oil back into my kitchen!!! I have shared this book as a gift. 💕

This is my second copy and I really enjoy trying the recipes cooked in the traditional historic way of African American People.
