Good trigger!
It’s not the best, but definitely better than the stock trigger. It does require some clearancing in order for it to work in the SD9. I thought this to be odd for a polymer drop in part, but nothing that can’t be handled with a file and a few minutes. I installed this trigger along with the Apex spring kit. I installed the parts myself using a cheap brass punch set and a small jeweler’s hammer to remove and replace the push pins. Nothing too technical, I feel anyone with more than minimal technical skills could accomplish this task. I am no gunsmith, but I am an engineer by trade, so this came easy to me. The trigger functions totally different than stock, 100% improvement! It took out that spongy/mushy feel of the stock trigger. There is now a clean/crisp break to the trigger when pulled to the rear. I did dock it a star for having to file the back of the trigger in order for it to work. I feel this should have been a drop-in/plug and play part.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

trigger is better then stock but has many faults. The worst is the thing don't work unless you file on the backside and when you do you make travel even greater than stock. If I could suggest wait until they come out with a new model. Trigger upgrade for the Smith & Wesson SD9VE
The original trigger on the SD9VE is made for the "newbie" gun-owner because the pistol doesn't have a traditional safety. The original trigger results in a very long trigger pull & reset and it has a relatively heavy (8 lbs.) pull. In my opinion, this trigger actually interferes, with accurate shooting. This "enhancement" trigger & associated springs by Apex solves both issues resulting in a smoother, lighter pull, but by no means not too light. It is more like an S&W 1911 trigger pull when accomplished. There are several u-tube videos detailing the upgrade making this a relatively easy procedure to perform. I am very happy with the results I achieved. I would recommend the upgrade to anyone who feels that the stock trigger exhibits the undesirable characteristics I described above. NOTE: It is very common to have to shave or file the back edge of the trigger to let the trigger travel backward enough to fire & reset the firing mechanism. This is really not a big deal & depends upon your SD9VE. I merely shaved off about 1/32" - 1/16" and it works fine. Good job Apex!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A few fitting problems
The seller...NorgeStar shipped same day as ordered...package arrived before expected date. Well pleased with seller..The apex trigger had to be filed quite a bit to work properly in my SW40VE. I expected to possibly have to hand fit as I had read in some reviews. But the amount I had to file seemed to be more than I had anticipated. Apex has some problems with their quality control and their Customer service department leaves a lot to be desired. Have had to deal with them on other issues with other products...They kinda leave you hanging on what to do. APEX trigger SD
This trigger feels really good, i installed it using the APEX video and it worked flawlessly straight away no need for filing like some say. Took it to the range to run 100 rounds through it to get use to the new trigger, after id say 60 or so when the gun got hot it had some issues and needed to be filed. What a difference
I replaced the sear spring and added this trigger to my sw40ve... wow it feels like a complete different gun. The pull is smooth even and predictable. I don’t have a trigger pull measure instrument but it is way lighter and better. With these two upgrades my gun is a pleasure to shoot again. The only negative I have is I did have to alter the trigger because it was making contact with the frame of the firearm preventing the trigger from resetting.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Apex Trigger better than Factory
I wasn't sure what to expect but when I got it in it was fairly easy to install for a person with mechanical experience and used to working with small tools.I like it better than the factory trigger with the little dangly thing at the tip. this still has the trigger safety it's just inserted in the middle of the trigger. Dont throw it in and expect to be done its a poly trigger and needs some fine tuning, however it is 100,000,000 times better than the garbage stock trigger from s&w. Apex Tactical S&W SD/Sigma Polymer Action Enhancement Trigger.
The trigger is fairly easy to install if you have patience and can work with springs and tight places. The "Slave Pin" (Included), makes things considerably easier, (It's a good idea to watch the YouTube video from Apex Tactical!) The trigger itself, in my opinion, doesn't reduce trigger pull, (Weight), to a hair trigger but what it does is take the inconsistent creep and make it Very crisp! I used a Timney Trigger pull gauge and the result is a good 6 to 6.5 pound trigger pull, which as I stated, it makes it Very crisp! It also takes the original half moon shaped - middle hinged trigger and turns it into more of a Glockish type pivoting second trigger. Not a HUGE Glock fan but it seems to work in this case. Need to be tuned little bit
Right after the installation, I am no longer be able to release the striker. I made phone call to the service helper, the person named Jon gave me very detail information about how to fine tuned the trigger, include photos and video.
