ESEE MODEL 6 AWESOME
This is all around a very nice knive. I am a huge fan of ESEE knives. Anyhow this knife has a very strong rigid high quality carbon blade that is razor sharp. For the larger size of this knife it is extremely comfortable to carry. It is light weight, has a extremely durable and safe sheath. No worries of the knife sliding out or cutting through the sheath. Razor Sharp. Great Knife!
The handle is not very ergonomic and the coating feels cheap compared to my other knives that are coated. It's closer to the texture of the spray on bed liners. I understand that the coating is needed to prevent rust since the knife is made of 1095 carbon steel, but I can oil/maintain my knives without it. I'll probably end up purchasing on of the TKC grips and stripping the coating, but overall this is a solid knife to put into my bug-out bag. Razor sharp out of the box. You won't regret buying this one. Important to note that the coating will inhibit using the spine of the knife as a flint striker, but isn't a big deal for me as I'll be removing the coating anyway.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It's the perfect knife
I just received it in the mail. It's everything I knew it would be- perfect knife for most tasks. It's a work of art. The craftsmanship is flawless. 6 inch blade- 5 inch handle (approximately). Feels like an extension of my hand. The amount of thought and expertise that went into it blows me away (and I own a lot of knives). Perfectly honed blade (you can slice paper/shave with it). Nice quality metal, full tang, of course. The weight is perfect, and well balanced (the knife is very maneuverable in the hand). The handle fits like a glove. I could go on and on. Yes, it costs more than K-Bars and Schrades (and I own a lot of these high quality low cost beauties), but jeez, it's worth owning at least one super high quality, all-around, "survival knife". I was very impressed by the reviews I read concerning the Esee 6, and felt it was time to buy it. And the handle is brushed, cloth-like, and grey in color.
