Nothing special
The splash guard does fit tightly in the disposal, to stay in place, but the drain closure design is very flimsy (overly thin rubber) and I expect will soon hang open even more than they do now. The rubber drain closure tabs are not nearly as thick as an original that comes with new disposals. The stopper is as durable as any other, but is often difficult to install in the splash guard, because the fit is overly tight. There has also been times when the stopper partially becomes unsecured, by popping out of the splash guard, which drains the sink. I hope this is all part of a break-in period, and eventually performs like other quality splash guard assemblies. This assembly is replacing a Hushmaster disposal splash guard and stopper that performed perfectly for 21 years.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Sturdy gizmo!
Very sturdy and long-0lasting product, but I always stock up, just in case it ever gets discontinued or something. I put both pieces thru the dishwasher occasionally, after hand-washing first, of course. The 2nd 2 descriptives above don't really describe this item. Garbage disposal stopper
