Shortcut the display resolution debugging and go native Display Port format
I had trouble using the Dell Thunderbolt docking station with just HDMI connections. I didn't want to mess around with multiple connector adapters in and out of the ports. I jumped right to this Display Port version. I was able to go USB-C from the laptop to the Thunderbolt docking station then native Display Port from it to the UHD monitor. Finally, there were no display resolution problems! I was lucky to get a "new" unit at a discounted price.
