Aston Spirt Mics are the best bang for your Audio Bucks!!!
I heard the sonic reviews of this microphone on Vintage Audio King and I was sold! I haven't had a chance to put it through a thorough test on several instruments, but I did test it out on a vocal. I love the mild and natural shelving filter that takes out just a bit of the boom; it's much less drastic than the filter on my UAD 4-710d preamp. I look forward to using this mic on guitars, drums, vocals and everything else I can try it out on. It's so versatile with its switchable polarities from omni, cardioid, and figure 8 patterns. And, the best part is the quality for the price. The Aston Spirit is a large diaphragm condenser mic. This is a great mic for the cost. The unique design and integrated pop screen, plus the beautiful and open sonic quality is outstanding. With multiple polar patterns, 3 different PAD levels; 0db -10db and -20db plus 80hz high pass right on the mic its a great choice for the studio mic locker.
