Filemaker Pro Wins Database Wars
I have used Filemaker Pro database software for at least 20 years. I'm not kidding. It is the best data manipulation and display tool there is. I have tried others, but they are difficult and not very user friendly. I am learning more about Filemaker Pro 11, but I know the latest version is number 15 (or 16?) so I will be saving my pennies to upgrade as soon as I can.

This is the best filing program I ever used. I collect music, books & movies: Lps, VHSs, DVDs, CDs, 78rpms, 45rpms, etc. FilleMaker makes it easy to sort, categorize and find the items I handle. My hobby would be a lot less fun without FileMaker Pro.

Excellent product, very happy with my purchase. Did not require a conversion to my data base (developed with version older than 7, and converted to 7). I installed the Mac version, so I can edit and read the PC version without issues. Current version with File Maker requires a conversion of the data, so not backwards compatible.

I was using FM Pro 9, which was not compatible with Sierra Mac OS. FM Pro 11 enabled me to upgrade. And, the conversion from FM 9 was seamless.

I've used Filemaker Pro for many years and find it to be flexible and perfect for making databases of Antiques, client lists, etc. I think that FP is trying to change to appeal to younger users who want everything to work on the Web, but I prefer slightly older versions for my projects.
