Surprising quality for an outstanding price
I had thoughts of receiving a reel of questionable quality and materials for the price. I had read some reviews and thought a few of them were pure BS. I was wrong. I found the quality and workmanship to be very good. The 6 +1 bearing system was really smooth when casing and retrieving. The carbon fiber drag was smooth and metal star drag easy to use. The thumb bar cast control is one of my favorite features. This is a well thought out reel. I'm impressed. I have been using "Swedish" made reels of this type since the early 60's. I know these reels inside and out. When I opened this reel up it was hard to tell the difference between this reel and the Swedish made reels. I found brass gears where nylon or plastics gears are on the Swedish reels. The internal quality was on a par with what I am used to seeing, The stainless steel worm gear and main shaft are a plus.
